- I rented a Yamaha Moxf6 last winter for a few weeks and this is the only track I recorded using only that. Everything that you hear besides the Riq groove in the background is improvised on the keys. I was really inspired by “Agharta” era Miles Davis. I picked an ambiguous scale for the string part and added layers. Enjoy!

- One Hour At A Time is the debut album from my solo project called Funkal Lobe Distortion. An hour a day over the last 8 months have culminated in to this; an instrumental mix of musical styles stitched together with an electronic thread. I hope you enjoy it enough to share it with the world!

- Mike has playing music for 30 years. He is a self taught musician who has always made music a priority in his life. He has been teaching music for 20 years and is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, sound designer and music producer and engineer. In his early musical life, he sang with Shania Twain, and toured with a band during high school. After high school, he moved to Toronto to play with a band under the Sony Coalition label with Arnold & Eric Lanni. He soon realized that he didn’t know enough about music to warrant that kind of life therefore he returned home to Moncton to study on his own. Soon enough, falling into a teaching career and pushing his limits. He started playing Jazz Fusion with local musicians and eventually started his own Jazz Fusion Ensemble called “Micheal Maillet Ensemble”. Always passionate about sound in general, he began studying sound engineering and sound design. These days he enjoys his time in his home studio working with all sorts of different artists. His electronic music is under the alias of “SineOut”.
