Miles Durrie – Sing Your Song

This is from an EP I put together a few years back with singer Malissa Rush under the band name Sally & Yellow (don’t ask…!) « Sing Your Song » is the only track that’s all me—music, lyrics, guitars, bass, vocals, programming. It was recorded using GarageBand in my home studio in Calgary. Gear included Yamaha six- and 12-string acoustic guitars, my 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 bass, an Apex 435 mic and Yamaha HS5 monitors.

Melinda Shank-Miles – As Strange As Beautiful

In 2002, I formed a duo with Ashton Price, of Toronto under the names Echo Stylus, and Manna. We wrote and recorded more than 15 songs together that were contracted by Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Melodious Publishing. A number of these songs, including « As Strange As Beautiful, » were featured in CBC’s Snakes and Ladders, and in Global TV’s Zoe Busiek: Wild Card. Ashton went on to open Morph Productions, a recording studio in Toronto. I have performed over the years in the studio as a vocalist, and on both vocals and guitar in duos and groups singing both original songs and covering pop and rock classics. There are a number of guest musicians who can be heard playing drums on these recordings: Craig Lapsley, Jim Tanney and Tim Preston, Randy Solski. I’ve also had the pleasure of playing and singing with Bryan Henderson, Karen Thornton, John Pinto, and Bianca Bernardi. on a number of projects in the past 13 years.

David Cruz – In Hindsight

I am a 23 year old jazz guitarist from Toronto Canada. I have shared stages with some of Canada’s top musicians including; Jackie Richardson, Kelly Jefferson, Ernesto Cervini & Mike Cado. I play most of the major jazz clubs in Toronto and have been fortunate enough to tour North America with various groups. I studied jazz performance at York University and now I sell acoustic guitars at L&M’s Bloor location. When I am not working, I am gigging, practicing or jamming. I released an EP in May 2019 which has since earned me international praise & radio play!

Laila Biali (Host of CBC’s Saturday Night Jazz) says; “At (age) twenty-three David Cruz is a wonderfully dynamic player.”

Stuart Kremsky (Producer for Dexter Gordon, Bill Evans, Barney Kessel and more) says; « Spend half an hour with David Cruz’s EP and you’ll experience some enjoyable guitar – based jazz. Well worth a listen. »

Julian Warme – Don’t Cull Me, Bro

Avem are a punk rock band that sings songs about birds and human life experiences as told through the perspective of birds. This song is in support of the Double Crested Cormorant, whose population was almost destroyed due to DDT usage in the 60s. Now they are threatened by a proposed cull of their species by 50 birds a day per hunter during the entire period they are in Ontario. This cull lacks science based evidence and is entirely a result of lobbying from commercial fisheries.

Julian Warme – Bass & Lead Vocals — L047
Maury Core – Guitars
Wayne Kennedy – Guitars — L066
Joel Moores-Mollica – Drums & Lead Vocals — L047

Guitars recorded with a Kemper Profiler, vocals with a trusty SM7B!
